Ha Route

We begin our journey at the Peristeronas Gorge, renowned for the red butterflies that flutter among the bushes and flowers. Along the way, we pass through traditional villages where time seems to have stood still, and pause in Oreino village to meet locals over coffee at a traditional ‘kafeneion,’ allowing time to relax and soak in the atmosphere. The route continues through valleys rich with olive trees and wild herbs, which you’ll have the chance to see, taste, and learn about their natural healing properties. The adventure then takes us high into the mountains, where rugged rocky landscapes blend with the aromas of thyme and sage, offering breathtaking views of the southern Cretan Sea. We then wind our way through the evergreen pine forest of Thripiti, home to trees that can live for up to 1,000 years. As appetite builds, we stop at a local taverna to enjoy a traditional Cretan meal accompanied by unlimited wine. Refreshed, we continue to Agia Anna, a small traditional church at the entrance of Ha, where we pause for memorable photo opportunities before heading back toward the hotel. On the return, we make one final stop to admire a stunning view over the northern Cretan Sea.
